about us
Who are we? I’m Ellen and my sister Erin is my business partner. We started breeding in 2019. We wanted something we could work together on and work from home on and as it so happened we were also wanting another dog or two! We started breeding and quickly fell in love with it! We love watching the mama dog's personality change as she gets closer to birth. We cherish every phase of puppies! Precious newborns with their eyes still closed, curious 3 week olds startling themselves as they discover their bark and dramatic protests to the vet checking their heart beat with a cold stethoscope. As much as we love our puppies, six, eight week old puppies gets a bit chaotic in our house! And, we’ve learned to love go-home day, and every phase of getting our puppies to their new families, just as much! Meeting new people and walking them through preparing for their new puppy, to delivering their new friend and seeing the smiles on their faces as they hold their new little one instantly warms our hearts!
When we started with just two female Cockers in 2019, we were living in Fort Collins, Colorado. The foothills of the Rockies are beautiful and I loved the easy access to great hiking and slopes for snowboarding but the city is not ideal for more then one or two dogs. Being from the midwest originally we were homesick for more trees and rain, I know that sounds funny, but it was true! We moved to Middle Tennessee on June 14th, 2021. We went from a small house in a crowded neighborhood and a tiny side yard to a beautiful piece of property on the side of a Tennessee mountain (very different from the Rocky Mountains we had been used to). We had room to grow and no neighbors for our chatty puppies to disturb! We have been able to expand our business and do more of what we love! We started traveling around the nation to bring happy, healthy, quality American Cocker Spaniels into our program.
So, why did we choose Cocker Spaniels? Well, it started when I was a very little girl. Lady and The Tramp was my favorite movie! And pretty much any movie that featured a sweet dog was my favorite. Homeward Bound, The Fox and The Hound, 101 Dalmatians, Benji, Beethovin, Buddy, yeah, pretty much whatever movie I had just watched determined what breed of dog I was begging my parents for that night at dinner, LOL!
When I was 10 years old some friends of ours told us that they had just rescued a male Cavalier King Charels Spaniel from a puppy mill. The dog's name was Jake. He was shy and skittish as he had been abused at the mill he was at. After making my case for why I would be the perfect girl to care for Jake. FInally, my parents brought him home as a surprise for me and we became inseparable! But, Jake was a King Charels, so how did we get to Cockers? Well, in addition to having lived a hard life, poor Jake also had some heart problems and didn’t live long after he came into our loving home. After Jake passed away my parents said that because of how responsible I was with him I could get a puppy. They gave me some criteria in picking the breed: It had to be a small to medium size, it couldn’t shed TOO much and because we were a family of 6 kids, it obviously had to be family friendly. So, my 11 year old self set about extensively researching the perfect dog and found the American Cocker Spaniel! We soon brought home my perfect little girl, Scotchie (short for Butter Scotch). Scotchie is still with me 13 years later! She moved with the whole family from Indiana to Michigan then with me to Colorado and then with me and my sisters to Tennessee! She still wanders around the property, tries to catch the much younger and more limber cat and gives me an exasperated look when our young puppies climb on her and hang on her ears.
We later got a male mini Poodle hoping to have Cockapoos but Scotchie never got pregnant. So, when I started considering breeding my sister and I wanted to stick with the breed that we knew, loved and trusted so Cockers is what we chose! Our niece had a beautiful male mini Poodle so we finally got to experience tiny Cockapoo puppies! And the rest (as they say) is history!

What can you expect when purchasing a puppy from us? As breeders, we’ve had to work with other breeders a lot to get quality puppies and dogs for our program. Breeders can often be rather…. Well, snooty. We don’t like working with people like that and don't think you should have to either! If you have questions, ask them! A new puppy is a big deal! So, look at our available puppies, pick one or two favorites and ask for more pictures, videos or even a facetime call! Once you feel good about us and who we are and you are in love with a specific puppy, we’re ready to move forward!
We require a $500 non refundable deposit to reserve your puppy. Your deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your puppy. The remaining balance won’t be due until we meet you with your pup. We’ll keep you up to date on your puppies growth with photos until go-home day! We typically meet our puppies' new families in Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Louisville or Lexington. We also offer hand delivery to most major airports in the U.S. for an additional fee.
What can you expect when we meet? A smiling face and an adorable puppy! In addition we’ll have all of their paperwork with us: vaccine records, bill of sale/receipt, our health guarantee and, if applicable, AKC paperwork. We also will always have a baggy of the food we’ve been feeding them. Puppies will switch easily to whatever food you want to feed them but with the stress of the move we recommend you switch foods slowly so we provide you with a little bit of ours.
I hope this introduction has helped you get to know us a little bit and we hope to get to know you also!
